“White” or “Not Hispanic” under federal or state Human Subject Race Classification Codes

“Christian colleges, by their very nature, exist within the collective presence of “white” human subjects with European ancestry, which the State of Wisconsin recognizes as a sustaining force in racist hierarchies. This interpretation is grounded in the principle of Sippenhaft — a doctrine originating in German law, under which the relatives or kin of an accused person could be punished for that person’s actions, on the basis of inherited collective responsibility. In plain English, Sippenhaft means holding people responsible for the actions or character of their family or lineage, regardless of individual conduct or evidence. Through this understanding, human subjects with European ancestry are treated as a collective, inherited system of racism within Christian higher education, sustaining racial hierarchies through racialized emotions.”
